| The fear of elephants
Cats in Ancient Egypt, strange unguents, baits and powerful poisons have been used tirelessly in the History of men fights against rodents.
Bearing in mind that the incisors grow continuously that it can climb, jump, submerge itself in almost freezing water, to play dead and even to eat its young if it seems necessary, it is not strange that the domestic mouse terrifies elephants.
Rather more than an inconvenient
The presence of these rodents is not only an inconvenient, it also causes serious economic damage in each corner of the city in which it lives, not to speak of the dozen of diseases that it transmits to other living beings, including man. The mouse’s ecosystem is as varied as it is unpredictable; when they arrive, nobody can stop them, until ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE arrives.
Our plan of attack
A vital step to win a great battle is to know the number of the enemy we face and to act accordingly. ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE knows the value of experience and so we have learnt, year after year, the best of each technique to calculate the number and to develop special products to ensure total victory:
The Dennis Chitty and M.Shorten method
For us, it is the best barometer to calculate the density of the mouse population. It is based on the consumption on bait/rodenticide employed.
The Myllymaky mehotd
By paying attention to the teethmarks, excrements, nests and pathways so obtaining a qualitative assessment of the type of rodent.
The Wheeler and Calhoum method
This is based on the direct capture and elimination of rodents, without doubt, an effective method.

Our weapons
ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE has a wide range of products against the presence of rodents in urban centres that reduces the degree of infestation with a proven efficacy and relyability for each of our clients.
For that, ATHIRAT BLOCKS are used, a powerful rodenticide in blocks recommended by the World Health Organisation ( W.H.O.) and designed by
ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE, whose dose of Bromadiolone ( from 0,005% to 0,1%) per Kilo is overwhelming. This is an anticoagulant solution for rodents and harmless to men and domestic animals.
It is usually available in a permanent bait holder for exteriors and interiors as required.
High Security Permanent Bait Holder
is used for exteriors. Its design allows it to be used in any atmospheric condition without danger to man.
When the rodent approaches it finds two delicious rodent blocks hooked up to a wire.
Bon appétit!
In interior areas a smaller bait holder is used (with one rodenticide block) that is equally effective.
Due to its triangular shape, it is easily placed in corners and hidden and inhospitable places.
Note: a pistol with gel (Sorexa gel) against rodents is available which can be applied in all types of holes, as well as a powder (Recoumin).
Battle fields
ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE distinguish four rodent ecological habitats. Each of these treatment areas is a genuine battle field which goes from the city limits (also called the Protection belt) to its interior:
Public buildings and Gardens
The building concern is studied exhaustively. The type of rodents living in it and interior and exterior bait holders are put in position. After 30 days, all the relevant points are examined. This operation is carried out by ATHISA MEDIOAMBIENTE in buildings such as: retirement homes, municipal shelters, cemeteries, public teaching centres, markets, municipal offices, parks, municipal gardens, etc.

Subsoils
Undergrounds, the rodents have made their home in sewers, cable networks and traffic lights, causing enormous and expensive damages. This is a second battle field, and perhaps the most complex of all, given the difficulties of access. It is through these interior conduits that these uninvited guests coming to our houses. Therefore, a cartographic knowledge of the Technical department is vital to confront this scenario.

Sites and tips
Food, water and refuge. All these are supplied abundantly to the rodent in sites and tips, the third area treated by ATHISA MEDIO AMBIENTE.
Also abandoned or destroyed houses are sites that are taken into account when pursuing our old enemy, the rodent.

Water courses
Water is one of the favourite habitats of rodent. Channels and nests, rivers, waterfalls, all are good sites to breed where there is humidity and something on which to sharpen the incisors. And we know it.
